Representation ID: 95092

Received: 30/10/2019

Respondent: Ms Sally Davies

Representation Summary:

This site is unacceptable due to:
Close proximity to County Wildlife Site of Tottenhill Row Common - just 30m away
Adverse visual impact on area, no possibility of suitable screening
To transport extracted minerals to processing plant it would be necessary to run the existing conveyor belt behind the properties on Tottenhill Row causing noise and dust issues
Consideration should also be given to the long term disruption on residents in the area who have already endured quarrying operations for decades.
Very large areas of land south of the A10/A134 roundabout enclosed by A10 to the east, Watlington Road to the west and Thieves' Bridge Road to the south are under water due to historic mineral extraction, and along with current sites MIN75, MIN76 and proposed sites MIN74 and MIN206, Tottenhill Row Conservation Area would be completely surrounded by water

Summary: Adverse visual impact, practicalities of processing, disruption to residents of conservation area, impact of increasing landmass being replaced by post extraction lakes.
