Preferred Options consultation document

Representation ID: 98252

Received: 22/09/2019

Respondent: Mr & Mrs Len & Sarah Coe

Representation Summary:

In regards to the Preferred Options Consultation for site MIN 40, Land east of Grandcourt Farm, we would like to raise a concern as residents directly adjacent to the proposed site:

My wife, Sarah, and I are owners and residents of Grandcourt Cottage, Main Road, East Winch PE32 1NG, which sits directly on the south eastern corner of the proposed site.

During the continuing operations of the existing site, approximately 300m west from our property, we have unfortunately experienced a large quantity of sand and dust blown from the site and onto our property. This has required clearing several times per week by ourselves, please see images via the below link for illustration. Please note, on several occasions workmen were sent by Silbelco to clear our yard, roof and guttering upon our request.

[photographs were provided as evidence of windblown sand deposited on the driveway and surroundings of this property]

Our point of concern for MIN 40, lies with an increased volume of sand and dust on our property, as a result of the increased proximity of the new site, in addition often stronger winds from the north (as there is little to break the wind when it blows from this direction).

Please could we be informed if any further details are required from us in regards to this point of concern. We would also be glad to hear if Sibelco intends to take any action to alleviate our concern.
