Preferred Options consultation document

Representation ID: 98259

Received: 28/10/2019

Respondent: Mr & Mrs Len & Sarah Coe

Representation Summary:

We were recently visited by Steven Halls from Norfolk County Council, who offered us lots of useful advice regarding site MIN 40 - Grandcourt Farm, and suggested that we reiterate our concerns via email.

Further to the practical burden with respect to increased volumes of sand blowing from the site and collecting on our property (see previous email) - which has been an issue with the existing site. We would also like to express a concern regarding the potential devaluation of our property.

In recent years we have been considering the sale of Grandcourt Farm Cottage, in order to downsize in our retirement. However, consultation with estate agents suggest the value of the property is already diminished by the working of the existing quarry, and will of course be further affected by the planning of MIN 40 on the property boundary. We are told that this is particularly apparent and of concern to a potential buyer when viewed on Google Maps.

We now unfortunately feel slightly trapped to the property, having underestimated the impact of the existing, and future works, and the damage it would do to our finances in retirement, and are consequently hesitant to put our home up for sale.
