I have recently received a letter informing me about the preferred options consultation for Norfolk Minerals and Waste Local Plan.
I live at Hill House Ferry Road Heckingham NR14 6SG so within 250m from the proposed site.
I have read the information on the website and I'm a bit concerned about the environmental impact of that expansion. There are multiple colonies of highly protected bats (common pipistrelle) within the location and close proximity to it. One of those is in our loft. As you know bats are sensitive to changes and it's a criminal act to disturb them. Expanding the quarry will also have detrimental effect on their hunting grounds.
Have this been taken into account when proposing the site? I know that at least 4 of the 7 properties situated adjacent to the proposed area have bats colonies on the premises.
