The Allocation of this site is supported by Monk Plant Hire Limited (MPH) as the future mineral operator. MPH propose to submit a planning application in 2020 with extraction commencing the following year. The planning application will be designed to meet all the specific requirements of the current Adopted Policy for Site MIN 55, including incorporating open faces in the restoration scheme to allow for geodiversity assets to be studied and to restore to a healthland type afteruse. The planning application will include the proposal to concurrently infill the void formed back to near original ground levels using imported inert waste materials. The stated mineral reserve is regarded as realistic as it allows for support to be afforded to adjoining land although a detailed stability assessment will be undertaken as part of the planning proposal. Mineral will be extracted at an annual rate of 50,000 tonnes over a period of 11 years. No processing will take place at the site itself as all mineral will be transported to the MPH processing facility at Stone Road, Hockering. An average of 10 HGV's per day will use the existing haul route to access the C261 and then turn right to join the NDR, then head west to the A1067 to Lenwade and turn south on the B1535 and Heath Road to Stone Road and the MPH processing facility. This arrangement will be covered by a formal routing agreement as part of the granting of planning permission. For the above reasons this site should remain as an Allocation in the current Review of the Minerals Plan.
