Respondent: Ms E Cleveland

Representation Summary:

I have just seen that there are plans for fritton woods to be considered as a plot for a quarry.

I would like to be one of I am sure many voices that would be in opposition for this to happen.

The woods are used by many, dog walkers and families and I myself grew up spending many times in them. It has been a shame to see that already in as little as 10 years a large size of this beautiful woodland has been flattened and I cannot let this happen further without voicing my opinion.

Living just up the road from this idyllic setting I know first hand the calm, peace and direct access to nature it holds. Destroying this land would destroy many peoples memories, past times, hobbies as well as any wildlife that currently resides within the trees.

The animals would be driven to find new breeding ground which could see more of these animals such as deer crossing the already busy fritton road and causing more accidents!
Foxes will have no choice but to source other means of food which brings them straight onto our doorsteps which whilst I love foxes, I do have a small baby and you do see some horror stories on the news.

More traffic coming in and out of fritton and belton causing the usual tranquil setting to be destroyed

I see no benefit to this other than financial gain by the city corporations who look to destroy our land for their gain!

Keep the countryside as it is... we don't need it here!
